May wrap-up
Damn, May went by really quickly. Kinda surprised how fast it went, it's hard to even keep track exactly of what has happened in the month ... but I have been doing a little better at writing notes at least a few times a week (albeit we ignore that I haven't written any in 3-4 days now, haven't felt the urge when my days have felt too fuzzy to really log ... I have been doing reflections in Finch at least).
A lot of my yapping has been on Dreamwidth for the most part, but otherwise I've kinda been struggling with some weird burnout in terms of gaming, and even reading has been a bit of a fight. Still trying to figure out the cause of that.
Website Wise
- I uh ... actually did finish my 11ty migration, with the caveat that I didn't do all of my pages yet; some stuff like my OC pages, and some fun pages like my toybox, are basically null right now. But it makes updating stuff like my neighbours, bookmarks, and other aspects a lot easier on me
- ... which also means I can finally get back to actually doing stuff on my site again, thank god
- I dunno if it counts as website stuff and more indie web stuff, but I joined cozy.talk which is a cute little merge between twitter threads, messenger, and a desktop with chats you can join. Also very new and with a cute pixel style??? Just made last month
- I began remaking my deviantART remake page (shrine? template? both?) which apparently got mega nuked when my SSD got overwritten by my stupid ass. Thankfully having my own old archived profile on archive.org + already having done this once, it was easier to get back to roughly where I was before and to optimize it
- Did you know so many of the icons used on dA were just. Fucking. Images???? Thank god for FontAwesome having the circle with the arrows so they can be colour adjusted for a dark mode, and that the dotted dividers can be made with 'gradients'. Still fuck all their 200 variations of greens/blues. WHY DO YOUR LINKS NOT HAVE THE SAME BLUE!!!
Personal
- Did my very first escape room ever, which was cool as hell!! And we managed to finish it completely, even with a little bit of extra time added. Def planning to go back to that place and do their other challenges as well (this one had like a 25% success rate)
- Decent amount of reading done, I knocked out 2 books this month, one of which was a non-fiction as well!
- Wrote quite a few articles this month which was also super nice; being on Dreamwidth has kinda helped weirdly to unlock writing more uh ... in chunks? I dunno how to describe it aside from that
- First movie I've been to in a while, even if it was just the new Mandalorian movie LOL ... next month I'm going to the Digital Circus theater showing, and my mum really wants to see Disclosure Day so we got a booking for that
- I got into using Finch (the app), and I've been trying my best to stick with it. It's been helping so far, though the real question is how long I'll stick with it. Having friends on it does help at least!! Also given me an excuse to lovingly bully one of my closer friends to do her tasks LOL
- I have been at least consistent with my weekly walking + starting to do a little bit of dumbbell exercises; I doubt I'll ever have them as 'habits' I do subconsciously without external help, but that's ok
- I did my first diamond painting!! Or well ... bookmark. I haven't began the actual painting yet, I was too scared bahaha, also worried how I'd keep it covered so the glue doesn't dry, since I'm not going to finish it in a day most likely
- Found a Legion Mass Effect figurine at EB Games while I was at the mall, and at a discount!! I now own some Mass Effect merch (aside from the Garrus body pillow I have stashed, and the Garrus YooTooz figurine that still needs to be shipped lol)
Goals
- Get more progress on my OC page revamp, mostly cause it's a lot of work in 11ty to make a whole modular template (a lot more macros + partials yada yada etc). Definitely not expecting to have it all done, but I'd like to at least get a few more portions in
- Recreate one of my archived pages like my food log, or my toybox
- Take more pictures with my camera; I want to eventually make a photo log on my site (with the photos dithered to heck and back LMAO)
Out of my goals from last month, surprisingly I managed everything but the hydrus network thing, only because I haven't had much of a push to really dive into it. I did find out Staples does home delivery for photos and size choosing, so that's a win. I did also at least get one of my FFXIV classes re-kitted and my UI back in place properly. And obviously since I finished my 11ty migration ... that also means my neighbours were done LOL.
