April wrap-up
I haven't done a monthly wrap-up since ... January, but to be fair some of these months felt fuzzy and vague, that it was hard to really put a finger on what happened because I haven't been logging it enough to really look back and remember what I've done.
I think this month had enough things to where I can talk about it a little more reliably in comparison to previous months. Some items from here are from previous months, but since there's a large gap between this post and my last one, I'd include them anyway.
Website Wise
- Uhh well, the 11ty migration is still in progress, I discussed it here just a few days ago in full details ... kinda hard to do much website stuff when it's like a half-taped box right now
- I am making a website for my friend's author page, since although I did make it in carrd, carrd is very limiting for doing stuff like
<details>panels and so on. Also, I think I'm now 11ty pilled for websites that have reusable templates, oopsies
Personal
- Been mostly doing work for my friend's book ... setting up newsletter stuff, promos, video making, and so on
- Took a week-long vacation near the end of April with the entire family, although I did get a bit sunburnt, the break felt very much needed (played a shitload of Tomodachi Life while there)
- I'm getting more dedicated devices for things ... namely a Kobo for reading (and I've migrated manga on there too), and I'm getting a digital camera tomorrow
- I really wanna get more into not relying on my phone for things, and maybe with all my photos now being on a dedicated device, it'll incentivize me to take more pictures ... even if the quality might be shittier than my iPhone camera
- An iPod clone is tempting but I also don't listen to music enough to make it worth it, I'm more likely to download a YouTube video and just play it offline to go to sleep to
- Booked tickets for the last episode showing of The Amazing Digital Circus, I'm so glad it's in my town as well
- I'm trying out this system of limiting my games/books to 3 items to help me get through my backlog of games that do have an ending
- I finished Unpacking through this process, and it was really cute!! Definitely a 4-star rating for me
- Had an interview and I should be hearing back this upcoming week if they're continuing on with me or not ... I'm definitely nervous because it'd be a really, really cool game project to work on and I think the interview went super well
- Got MX Linux XFCE installed on my old ass laptop with 2GB RAM LOL, that was definitely a chore and a half since I had to reinstall it 2 times in the process, but it works well now and it's kinda nice to just have a baby 10 inch laptop that I can use as a break from my actual laptop
- Because it's slow and limiting, it limits me to just doing work like website coding and writing in Obsidian, or waiting a minute for sites to load ... and checking my own website on a smaller non-mobile resolution
Goals
- Finishing moving all my neighbours over to the new JSON data on the site revamp (80 neighbours left)
- Remaking my FFXIV class gearsets + skill layouts cause my dumbass did not back up my config files off my old laptop and I basically lost everything
- Figuring out how to buy nice photo prints since I wanna start my own album of memories and not have all my photos digitized
- Figure out how hydrus network works since I wanna also use it to organize what images I do have on my laptop
I would love to have 'finish website revamp' for my goal but it's unlikely LMAO, unless I get mega fixated on it, but it is a lot of moving parts that still need to be put together, and I'm still learning the syntax for Liquid/Nunjucks. I'm not sure what to expect for May ... nothing major is of note this month; June will have a lot of interesting things like the final TADC episode, My Adventures with Superman S3 releasing, and probably some other things.
I hope the weather warms up ... spring here has become an annoying flux of snow, then to oscillating cold and warm days. I miss 15 celsius degree weather at this point LMFAO. It'd be warmer than what it is now.
