January wrap-up
Weirdly a ... it's sure a month. Honestly it feels like I haven't done much this month, oddly enough. Maybe it's just because I've been mostly working on my contract work + working on helping to set up my friend's book release coming in a couple of months, but there's also a weird, pervasive emptiness that sometimes lingers.
I have began journaling again though on my iPad to try to get back in hand writing entries, and I have joined Dreamwidth which has ... actually felt really good so far to have a place like that to talk.
Website Wise
- Setting up my Colours TCG page and optimizing some of the layout/javascript to fit more of my needs
- Optimizing my site load to not have layout flickers when loading in, I do want to update my site breakdown page to account for this, since my layout javascript is now split into two
- Added a drawbox, though I still need to clean it up since I have to use frames to showcase anything with external scripts
- Finished my Goatlings shrine, though it's still a work in progress since I haven't moved all of my goats over, and I finally added my Genshin Shrine I got gifted (though because it's a WIP, I won't link it for the moment)
- Finished updating all my neighbours, or rather my spreadsheet to help lift some of the coding work in updating it
Personal
- Got to try a hot pot place for the first time ever, and it was awesome as hell. Will most likely visit again in the future since it's an all you can eat
- Onto the 3rd book of the Witcher, and almost done with it! It's been so nice to reread the series again after basically like ... 5+ years since I last read it (as it was in college, and I graduated in 2020 so)
- I'm trying to learn javascript through freecodecamp, or at least to try to take notes as I learn; I'd like to understand the code snippets I use and find, since it's so much weirder than C# as a language
- I began a little project just today to archive all of my headcanons for Sylvie, since all of my yapping is very scattered over multiple sites, and I'd like to have somewhere local/safe I can look back on it, or maybe even publish it as an Obsidian page for reference?
Goals
- Continue journaling, at least in my iPad. I'm not trying for daily consistency, but at least to try to write out small highlights of the day I can revisit
- Continue uploading my carrd templates onto VGen, mostly since I've gotten a flow as to how to distribute the carrds bought through it, and more places to sell doesn't hurt as it's a passive side income (albeit doing it through VGen kinda doesn't get me the referral code goodies but yada yada)
- Javascript learning, even if at my own pace. I should set a weekly goal to at least do 10-20 minutes of learning at least a few times per week
Maybe not the best thing to write right now when I'm in a weird ... I dunno if emptiness is quite the right word. Perhaps detachment, boredom, some kinda mix of words I can't quite put a finger on right now. I've thankfully had very few days like that, but the last week has been kind of a little more nasty with it, and I'm waiting for it to tide over.
At least the Genshin Lantern Rite event is up and even if I know the entire story, there's still some stupid joy I get in playing (especially modded!!!).
